Nestled in the old growth in the heart of the Skatay Range is a small Vierian tribe cut off from even their own brethren. This is where Solstice is born, in a little slice of paradise that is too good to be true. Inhabitants don't have to worry of the forest not providing for them, no need to fear the beasts and monsters that roam the deep wood, and the struggles and pain of the outside world don't reach their ears. Content to live their lives and worship the forest spirit that protects them, the small Viera tribe lives in tranquility and peace.But nothing is as it seems, and such a peace comes at a hefty price. Annually, a Viera is marked for The Hunt, and left out on their own for the very spirit they worship to come and stalk her prey. At the young age of 14, Solstice was unknowingly marked and sent off into the wood to fend for himself.Escaping while Marked was no easy task, and it took sacrificing everything to save his own life. The Mark has lingered, drawing the gaze of every voidsent and aether sensitive creature or being. Solstice lives his life on the run, ignoring a call to return to The Range and the pull to finish what was started.In his travels, Solstice found himself in Gridania, where he trained to be a lancer. The technique comes easy to him and he is soon sought out by an Ishgardian noble who hosts him to train as a dragoon. A seemingly generous offer with ulterior motives leaves Solstice on the frontlines of the Dragonsong war.Marked as he is Solstice finds rather quickly that he has been put on the chopping block once again as he seems to attract an unnatural amount of Nidhogg's thrall, one of which took his arm, but luckily not his life.Discharged back to Ishgard, he spent some time healing and rehabilitating his arm and can now be found as a bartender at Le Renard Argente. Slinging drinks is not something he expected to do but it pays and Solstice is looking to earn enough coin to leave Ishgard and the pain it houses within its walls behind him.

Solstice has found himself in need of coin, and has been recently hired as a bartender at Le Renard Argente alongside his two partners, Iphert and Etienne. He may be exceedingly distracted throughout the night, though that just means he'll likely pour you a stronger drink. Give him attention or play into one of hits bits, however, and he'll keep you entertained all evening. Men At Work.  — Uncommon
Being hosted by an Ishgardian Noble doesn't come without a price. Solstice can often be seen around town handling potentially very shady packages, discussing with various nobles, traveling all over Eorzea and beyond. The nature of his work is something he doesn't discuss often, but what he will do is bitch about his reclusive host. In Solstice's opinion, he's a hermit and a dick, meddling in things he absolutely should not be. Characters may be potential connections with this noble, or interested in his ancient collection. Those close with voidsent or otherwise Aetherically Inclined may notice there is something, off, about Solstice. His Aether is overall that of a regular person but there is something lingering upon it, almost like a brand.
You may feel as if there is something Unfinished, something Ancient, something Violent. Those with a prey drive may find themselves with an urge to Hunt the unsuspecting Viera.
